This workshop was geared towards non-cis AAPI women and femmes wanting to reconnect with their ancestors, explore boundary setting, and honor their wholeness. This 90 mins workshop was about being fully “present” in the body. Finding new coping skills through intention and mindfulness. This workshop sought to examine the intersection of Black Liberation and Indigenous Sovereignty as logics and movements of abolition. This discussion/workshop revolved around the work of facilitator, Nereyda's honors thesis in which they discussed the ways white supremacy has constructed race, the gender binary, and conceptions of what it means to be human in an effort to explain the roots of transphobia. While this is not a workshop, Nereyda held a guided discussion about the limits and potentials of gender theory after presenting their thesis.

Whether a femme of trans experience embracing their vast fluidity, a young spiritual practitioner convening with past selves, or Black person with Borderline Personality Disorder coming to terms with constructed identity, folks from all walks of life grapple with the idea of “multiple-selves”. In this workshop participants developed a character on paper, documented lived experiences through poetry or anecdote, all in the voice or POV of a less explored, less known or shown self.
